Position: Controller

A massively expanding trucking company based out of Chicago seeks an Accounting Department Head. This is a Controller position with a unique opportunity to work remotely, while being a part of a company that’s on track to quadruple its revenue to 40 million by the end of 2021.
The accountant will answer directly to the CEO and oversee accounting operations while eventually leading staff in the future. Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum 3 year’s work experience.
• Qualified or partially qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA / CIMA),
• Degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field. • Experience of management accounting and control. Public Accountant (Preferred)
• Experience of financial reporting and analysis.
• Experience of working in Trucking, Supply Chain or Logistics (Preferred).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical thinking and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, to work under pressure and to handle several projects at once.
• SAP experience is an advantage.
• Proficiency in PC skills (including Word, Excel).
• Good problem-solving and time management skills.
• Availability up to 1:00pm CST. (Presumed work day 11:00am-8:00pm CST)
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proven track record of building teams and team leadership.
• Proven track record of discretion and compliance.
• C1 level English or equivalent Duties and Responsibilities
• Monthly accounting, analysis and reporting of Logistics expenses for the company.
• Assist in the timely delivery of complete and accurate monthly Group management accounts including P&L, and other ad hoc reports for Inventory and Logistic.
• Review of balance sheet accounts relating to Logistics.
• Responsible for year-end audit and statutory accounts preparation.
• Responsible for special projects as assigned.
• Provide management with daily, weekly and monthly reports to drive business results.
• Manage all aspects of accounting; billing, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, projects.
• Prepare and communicate weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting.
• Contribute to the company’s strategic planning and implementation.
• Forecasting and financial analysis.
• Preparation of annual budget.
• Insurance and Insurance Renewals for tasked divisions.
• Coordinate the preparation of annual tax return for tasked divisions.
• Use measurement and reporting to drive business goals such as cost reduction initiatives, working capital management, and return on capital employed to ensure that they are adequately measured, managed and achieved.
• Use measurement and reporting to drive excess expense and capital out of the business.
• Problem solver with the ability to multitask, as well as enhance policies and controls throughout the company and to identify potential risks in a timely manner.
• Thorough understanding of risk management, risk transfer and insurance.
• Will provide direction Fleet management Inventory Management, Customer Service, Settlements and Financial Statements.
• Installs financial and operational controls to minimize risk, and assure consistent reporting of operational performance.
• Ability to Benchmark internal operations / develop Metrics
• Must be able to model.
• Must understand business law, service agreements and union agreements
• Conscientious about timeliness of assignments & quality of work product required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Discretion is a must. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in US Logistics
• Knowledge of TMS systems
• MBA / Certified Public Accountant
• Experience in Corporate Controllership
• Level of proficiency in PC spreadsheets (PIVOT TABLES) and ERP/MRP systems
• QuickBooks Software
• Able to demonstrate forecasting and analytical abilities, etc.
• Some knowledge of business law.
• Multi-faceted and have ability to concentrate on several priorities at once.
