Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Turner/Miller with expertise in programming and operating CNC machines using one or more of the following software: Heidenhain, Fanuc, Mazatrol, Fagor, Haas, or Siemens. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our manufacturing team, producing precision components and contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of our production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and program CNC turning/milling machines to produce high-quality components based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job to achieve desired results while minimizing waste and optimizing machining processes.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining operations, tool paths, and sequence of operations.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using the designated software (Heidenhain, Fanuc, Mazatrol, Fagor, Haas, Siemens) to ensure accurate and efficient machining of parts.
- Conduct tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as necessary to maintain precise tolerances and meet quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure their proper functioning and longevity.
- Monitor machining processes, inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose any issues that arise during machining, making adjustments and collaborating with maintenance personnel when required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and quality control, to ensure successful completion of projects and adherence to specifications.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting and implementing enhancements to machining techniques, tooling, and programming methods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent additional technical certifications or vocational training in CNC machining is preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner/Miller with a strong background in programming and operating CNC machines.
- Proficiency in using one or more of the following software: Heidenhain, Fanuc, Mazatrol, Fagor, Haas, Siemens.
- Solid understanding of machining principles, tool selection, and cutting parameters to achieve optimal results.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in producing components within specified tolerances.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and adjust CNC programs as needed.
- Basic understanding of machine maintenance and upkeep.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
